The fix was I was forced by work to update to windows 10 as I had to now work from home due to COVID. The only way to fix that was to disable Kapersky while I was playing.(also issues with causing stuttering in Tropico 5)
It turns out that Kapersky had updated to closer match windows 10 therefore was now causing issues on windows seven. Oblivion is from the same timeframe and once it gets minimized it becomes unresponsive so you lose all your playtime since the last time you saved. I also had issues where the game would flash out to desktop. I at the time was using windows 7 64 bit and kapersky as my antivirus.Ī little while after Windows 10 came out I started having stuttering trouble in games including Oblivion. I love playing the Elder Scrolls game Oblivion. This is unfortunately a hard one to pin down.
